Information it collects Pulpo
We would like to inform you about the type of data we collect when you use our services.
Pulpo collects data to provide the best services to all users - from tracking your journey using GPS, to performing more complex tasks, such as analysing information from your device's sensors to provide a driving score. The type of information Pulpo collects and how it uses it depends on your use of the Services and how you manage privacy controls.
Information we collect when you use our services:
We collect information about your activity on the Pulpo Services, which we use to provide the Services and for analytics on our web platform. The information we may collect about your activity is set out below:
  • Detailed location, journey and route information. Location and route information is collected, for example, in the form of GPS signals (combined with a timestamp) and other data sent by the mobile device on which you have downloaded and activated the Application. This information is stored in a route history that includes all the journeys you have made using the App. The types of location data collected depend in part on your device settings and your Account settings. For example, depending on the settings you have selected on your device or your Account settings, Pulpo may (or may not) collect information about your location and journeys, even when you are not using the Application, so that you can continue to use other applications on your mobile device while Pulpo continues to collect journey information.

Metadata (usage data from your device, browser and Application):

When you download the Application, Pulpo collects information about your use of the Services and information about the device on which you downloaded Pulpo. For example:

  • Pulpo may collect and record how often and for how long you use the Application; what type of device you have; your unique identifiers; the type and version of operating system; and the geographic location of the device you use to log in to Pulpo and use the Application or the Web Platform.
  • It also collects information about your devices' interaction with the Services, including crash reports, system activity, and the date, time and referring URL of your requests.

Why Pulpo collects this data
We may use the personal information we collect or that you provide to us for the following purposes:

Providing our services
We use your information to provide our services. For example:
  • We use your location and route data to generate a trip history on the Pulpo web platform (points travelled, distance, time) and sensor information to give you a driving score.

Maintaining and improving our services

We use your information to provide our services. For example:
  • We also use your information to ensure that our services are working properly, for example, to track network outages or troubleshoot problems you report to us. We also use your information to improve the Services, or to develop new features or services.

Measuring performance

  • We use data in analytics and measurement tools to understand how our services are used. For example, we analyse your usage data for the Services to optimise product design.

Control your personal information

  • To consult the history of routes and routes, you can log in to the Web Platform of Pulpo and go to "GPS", if you have the necessary permissions and the module contracted.

If you believe that the information associated with your User is incorrect, incomplete or obsolete, please send an email to support@getpulpo.com.
Privacy controls
  • There are different ways to control the information that Pulpo collects (regardless of whether you are logged in with a Pulpo User), such as device settings. Your device may have controls that determine the type of information Pulpo collects. For example, you can change the location settings on your device.

Delete your information

  • If you want your User to be deleted from Pulpo, you must use the "Delete" function available in the Users and permissions settings on the Pulpo web platform, the deletion of this information will depend on the user who owns the account at Pulpo.

How Pulpo retains the data it collects
Some data can be deleted at any time, while other data is automatically deleted or retained for longer periods of time, if necessary. This section describes why Pulpo retains different types of data for different periods of time.

  • Information retained by Pulpo your user data. This may be your user details, name or other account-related data. This data is retained in your Pulpo Account until you delete or modify it.
  • Data that expires after a specified period of time. In some cases, you do not need to delete your information, as Pulpo sets retention periods depending on the reason for data collection. Pulpo may also take steps to anonymise some data for specific periods of time.
  • Information that is retained until your Pulpo User is deleted. Pulpo may retain some information for as long as your Pulpo User is active, if this allows it to learn how users interact with its features and how it can improve its services.
  • Information that is retained for extended periods of time for specific purposes. Sometimes, legal and business requirements require Pulpo to retain certain information for specific purposes for an extended period of time. These are some of the reasons why certain information may be retained for extended periods of time:
  1. Ensuring security, and preventing fraud and abuse.
  2. Comply with legal or regulatory requirements.
  3. Ensure continuity of services.
  4. Send communications to Pulpo.

How Pulpo uses aggregated information
Pulpo may use anonymous, statistical or aggregated information (including anonymous location data), in a form that makes it impossible to identify users, to provide the Services properly, improve their quality, optimize your experience, create services and features (including customized services), modify or cancel services, and for other internal, business and statistical purposes (such as advertising).

Pulpo may also use anonymous, statistical or aggregated information collected on the Services (and in a form that makes it impossible to identify users) when publishing, disseminating, transmitting, or otherwise communicating this information or making it available to users of the Services, its suppliers and partners, and any other third parties.

Cookies
Pulpo may use cookies and similar technologies on the Services. Cookies are packets of information that the Web Platform's servers send to your web browser and that your browser sends back each time you access the Web Platform's servers.

Information security
Information security is a top priority for Pulpo. Pulpo services include powerful security features that constantly protect your information. Pulpo implements systems, applications and procedures to protect your personal information, and to minimise the risk of theft, damage, loss of information and unauthorised access to or use of information. For example, Pulpo reviews its data collection, storage and processing practices (including physical security measures) to prevent unauthorised access to its systems. It also restricts access to personal information so that only those employees, contractors and agents of Pulpo who need such information to process it have access to it. All those who have access to this information are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be subject to disciplinary action or termination if they fail to comply.

Pulpo obtains information from the maintenance of its services that helps it automatically detect and block security threats so that they never affect you.

However, these measures cannot guarantee absolute protection. Therefore, while Pulpo goes to great lengths to protect your personal information, it cannot guarantee (and you should not reasonably expect) that its databases will be free from breaches, failures, unlawful access or interception, or other types of abuse and misuse.
